Minor (no one is hurt) Car Accident, also know as not a good enough reason for my insurance premium to be raised

Date: Wednesday Janary 28, 2009
Time: 1:30pm-ish
Weather: Snow has now turned to rain, icy
State of Mind: Happy (until accident)

Accident: His front passengar bumper hits and scrapes my entire front bumper. My bloody license plate comes off!

I am pulling out of the parking lot of the building in which I live. I have pulled out of this parking lot about 1,124 time before. I look both ways. I clearly do not see the gentleman (soon to be called other names) driving down the road. It is raining and now I am going to be late for work. Happy is out of the window. I dont have a coat and the rain is ruining my fabulous hair.

I move my car to allow for traffic to get by(as any decent citizen would do). I proceed to pick up my license plate that is sitting in a puddle and put it into my car. I am annoyed as now this gives a copper reason to pull me over. Bastard! The guy who I collided with is now yelling at me. Yelling "I am not allowed to move my car and how dare I move after we just had an accident." I tell him to chill the hell out. I let him know that I am moving out of the way of traffic and he needs to stop friggin yelling...

(If you know me you will know that its hard for me to not yell back - but I kept my cool as when one is in a car accident you must always have the law on your side.)

The police office arrives after many minutes of dirty looks from the evil man. He gets the evil mans story and I give mine. (As a reminder, we were driving about 7 miles per hour.) The evil man that I have now named, "Pathetic, unemployed piece of garbage", tell the police officer that his lower back hurts. At this point, I lose it! I make it clear that I was driving no more than 7 miles per hour and there is NO FRIGGING WAY his back hurts from this accident!!!

Needless to say he takes pictures form his phone, get a witness who tells exactly what happened as she was home - sitting on her proch smoking, clearly unemployed. The "witness" does tell the police officer that he was yelling at me. As a reminder people, why you need to remain mainly calm at an accident.

We all part our seperate ways. My hair is ruined. I am cold. I am annoyed. I am late for work and missed an interview. I could have used a massage too.... It is all the "Pathetic, unemployed piece of garbage"'s fault.

Hey, let's take it easy on the unemployed! Other than that, I agree that there's no reason for the guy to be a douche. And there's no way his back hurts from that.
Interesting note, though... It seems that he was going out of his way to stress the accident being your fault. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't have car insurance. Your insurance company may pay for the damage on his car even if he doesn't have insurance, but a lot of times they won't if the uninsured driver tries to claim injuries as well.
